She is extremely interested in reducing the burden of mental illness in the UAE and MENA region as well as eliminating the stigma around mental healthcare seeking. I am currently working as a behavioral therapist in Dubai, UAE, and I work with children who have social and developmental delays in their daily life. I have previous experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, and mental issues such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, and phobias. I have completed my Master's in Clinical Applications of Psychology from Kingston University, London as well as my BSc in Joint Hons Biology & Psychology from Newcastle University, UK. I am Nazia Savrimootoo, based in Amman. I have worked as an inclusion specialist before specializing in, and starting to practice as, an educational psychologist. I work with learners of all ages, who face challenges in school environments, whether socially or academically, and work with both learners and teachers to help ensure that the teaching and learning process is inclusive and caters for the needs of all learners. Psycho-educational testing is part of my intervention, which also includes helping learners develop strategies to cope with the demands of the curriculum they are studying.
