Mrs. Al-Kharusi is currently the Managing Director of Al harub Medical Center, overseeing the organisation’s team of therapists and administrative staff.
Nutaila specializes in individual, family, children and adolescents addressing family and peer conflict, oppositional or risk-taking behavior, parenting/discipline problems, academic motivation and school failure, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and obsessivecompulsive disorders. Nutaila has written a monthly psychology advice column for a local magazine (Usrat El Youm) from 2009 to 2016. Nutaila has given workshops to students and employees on mental health issues and intervention strategies. She is an invited speaker to many local groups and agencies on mental health issues.
Mrs. Al-Kharusi is trained in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema therapy, Eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR), Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT), which she uses along with CBT for example.
As the founder of the Psychology Department within AHMC in 2007, Mrs. Al-Kharusi has been instrumental in setting up the first mental health clinic in private practice in Oman. Prior to AHMC, Mrs. Al-Kharusi worked simultaneously as a Behavior Change Analyst and therapist at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in the Corporate Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Department and PDO clinic. In addition to her time at AHMC, Mrs. Al-Kharusi has also worked as a Lecturer in Psychology at Mazoon College, Muscat from 2010 to 2012.
I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the American University of Kuwait. I hold degrees in Psychology (B.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D.) from the City University of New York. In my research experience, I conducted interdisciplinary studies on cognition, brain, and behavior, both in humans and animals. I am currently conducting research exploring causal factors underlying learning in students of all ages, and the influence of technology on cognition, learning, and wellness.

My long experience has enabled me to help people in diversified contexts to resolve their difficulties, to access a better mental health and to reach personal growth.

Lindi Gurtzweiler-Herrin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the United States. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Doctoral Degree in International Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Ms. Herrin is trained In Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapies (DBT). She has extensive clinical experience encompassing clients with trauma as well as co-occurring diagnosis and substance misuse across cultures. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities with adolescents and their families within the United States and Europe. Ms. Herrin also worked and consulted within correctional facilities, judicial systems, educational settings, and private practice. She is currently working in Germany as an LPC alongside the United States Department of Defense.
Ms. Herrin is a member of the Ethics Committee of the Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA), Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCAGA) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Ms. Herrin’s research interests include transnationalism, refugee rights and current forced migration trends.
