Mandeep Jassal is a fully accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner from the UK. She recently won an appreciation plaque at the First Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) in recognition for her ongoing commitment and dedication to the field of psychology. She started off her career in the field of mental health at the age of 17, when she volunteered at a day service for adults with learning disabilities including Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Asperger’s syndrome, and autism.
Mandeep qualified from the University of Hertfordshire with a BSc as a Mental Health Nurse. Mandeep then topped up her PG.Dip to a Masters in CBT from The University of Hertfordshire. She worked within the National Health Service (NHS) and private sector, including experience at an 18-bedded acute psychiatric unit and a 20-bedded care home.
Seeking to develop further her interests and knowledge in the psychotherapy field, Mandeep qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma from the London Metropolitan University. She continued her on-going professional development, by completing a 3-part course in EMDR, delivered by the renowned psychotherapist Sandi Richman.
Mandeep worked in the private healthcare setting, including the prestigious Priory Hospital where she treated clients with a multitude of diagnoses, but primarily clients who had depression and anxiety based disorders. Mandeep has run her own private practice HOPE Therapy [Hold on Pain Ends] where she saw clients on a 1:1 basis for a vast range of mental health issues.
Mandeep has also been a speaker on several occasions for the BBC West Midlands Radio station, during Mental Health awareness week and has also delivered talks to students on mental health and CBT at Wimbldon High School.
Currently Mandeep is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her professional interests include preventative measures in mental health care and the treatment of adolescents and younger adults.
Mandeep is currently working at The Priory Wellbeing Centre, in Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai
